April 2019 - Ten minute underpainting. The piece starts life as the result of a lucid dream sequence visualizing the forest of Jupp's childhood, willfully lost in all directions, and playing out personal lore and fantasies.

July 2019 - The spirits of the forest slowing come to life. From reading Norse/Deutsch mythology a title is chosen, the language and spelling of which are struggled over and finalized.

End of July 2019 - Not satisfied with the result, the wire armature surface is removed. The piece is re-imagined as part of Mythen und Legenden (Myths and Legends). The process begins again.

First of August 2019 - A deeper "sky" is applied.

After a few additional underpaintings, the first sculptured surface is applied. Dried in the sun and meant to incrementally fade, these first layers call to the sky beyond the trees.

Lights through the forest. Or are they sprites?

Originally conceived as part of the larger series: Ich erinnere mich (i remember) -- wire mesh, burlap and an acrylic polymer are added to begin bringing the piece into the tangible and tacile world.

Gold, gauze, and the trunks of the forest. The fae folk have come to life.

August 9th - Rain, water, rivers, and streams. The heart of the forest.

August 11th - Many painted layers later and the triptych is finished.
